BCS was recently granted a patent for a novel use of the biocide MDTCMA (BCS product name MamateTM) in gas and oil well stimulations: Patent No. US 10,793,451 B2. This chemistry can be used to replace biocides such as 2,5-dimethyl-1,3,5-thiadiazinane-2-thione (also commonly referred to as “Dazomet”) which is a known formaldehyde releaser. MamateTM has a 50% concentration of active ingredient which is twice as high as 2,5-dimethyl-1,3,5-thiadiazinane-2-thione, and as such can be applied at a more cost effective dosage.
