Industrial Water Treatment

Acrylic polymers and copolymers are widely used in scale inhibition and water treatment due to their effectiveness in controlling the formation of scale and improving water quality. They are used in conjunction with other additives to protect heat transfer surfaces and piping from scale deposition. A few examples include PAA or polyacrylate, AA/AMPS, PCA, AA/AMD and HPMA.

In water systems like boiler and cooling tower loops that provide a warm, moist environment supporting the growth of various microorganisms, biocides like isothiazolin and DBNPA are used to control and eliminate these microorganisms, preventing biofilm formation and maintaining system efficiency.
